Both of the walled cities had their walls built for either enemies or wild animals. Also, they were both built between 10 and 20 years from the modern day. The last comparing is that both of the walled cities were made to pray in. The religions of both of these walled cities are (mostly) christian and catholic.

Fanling
There is also another walled city that we researched called Fanling. This place was also built to help the city from wild animals and other attacking enemies. Centuries ago they used bricks there so that's why they had them. They worshipped Tin Hau-the sea goddess in a temple called Tin Hau Kung. The system they believed in was polytheism. It is when you worship several deities, gods and goddesses. Catha and Usil is the sun, Tivr is the moon, Selvans is a civil god, Turan is the godess of love, Laran is the god of war and Leinth is the goddess of death. There was a legend that a dragon was leaping in Lung Ku Tau in Fanling. The walled city has been there around 11 centuries. They are now renovating the buildings because they are too old but they aren't bringing anyone in. The religions there are mostly Catholic/Christian. The walled city is now abandoned unlike San Gimignano where they have tourists and museums moving in. The only reason that some of the buildings look old is because they haven't finished renovating yet.

San Gimignano
San Gimignano is a walled city in Tuscany, Italy. The walls were built for defending them against wild animals and enemies. They were built by some people called the Etruscans. San Gimignano's population decreased a lot when the Black Death Plague struck the city. The walls have been there around 19 centuries (around the 3rd century) from the modern day. There are 14 towers remaining but there used to be 72! The demolishing of the towers came back from WWII. Nowadays, they are making a museum out of the town so that tourists can see some historic information. San Gimignano was founded by a tribe called the Etruscans (almost the romans). Nowadays, they use the buildings as a tourist attraction or as apartments. They have renovated some of the ruins that got destroyed in the II world war but they kept most of the ruins to make money.
